Clients fly into Kodiak City and we either pick them up at the airport and return them there or we fly them into Port Lions. (Included in week long package)

Our typical trip begins with the clients being picked up in the City of Kodiak around 2:00 PM on Sunday. Clients will be transported to the lodge where they will enjoy dinner and a briefing Sunday night. Monday- Friday clients will enjoy guided fishing or hunting, or drop off and pick up for the self guided-hunters. Clients, by now friends, will be returned back to Kodiak at approximately 10:00- 11:00 AM on Saturday to wrap up their 6 nights and 5 days Port Lions Lodge vacation! Please contact us to discuss shorter or longer stays and we will work to custom build a package that fits your needs.

Prepare for cool or warm weather with layers. Rain gear, sunblock, camera, and lodge slippers are must-haves. We highly recommend you bring a carry-on bag in your possession all the way to Kodiak that contains any necessary medications, a couple days supply of personal hygiene products, a day or two change of warm clothing, and a waterproof jacket. There have been occasions- extremely rare- of baggage arriving a day or two later than clients due to conditions at the airlines. For a more complete list please see below under policies and procedures.

Visit our Policies page for full details and a downloadable document to help with your license.

Yes, we have wireless connectivity for your devices at the lodge.

Alcohol is not provided at Port Lions Lodge. However, you are welcome to bring your favorite adult beverage. We will also take you to a store in Kodiak upon your arrival where you can purchase any alcohol you may desire. Please let your driver know when you are first picked up that you need to be taken to the liquor store if that is the case.

We are just far enough off the beaten path that the nearest store is an hour away by boat and truck. Try to make sure you have everything you need prior to departing Kodiak for the lodge. Let your driver know if you need to go to a store prior to leaving Kodiak City. If you forget something and realize it once at the lodge chances are we may have it. If critical emergency supplies can be shopped and flown into Port Lions if the weather allows. This is about a day long process.

Port Lions is a village located on Kodiak Island in the Kodiak borough of the US state of Alaska. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 194. It is likely closer to 170 now. Port Lions was built to house the inhabitants of Ag’waneq from the neighboring island of Afognak and Port Wakefield from Raspberry Island after villages were destroyed by the Good Friday Earthquake of 1964. Port Lions was built with help from the US government and the Lions Club. It was named in honor of the club.
