About port lions lodge

Port Lions Alaska

Port Lions History

Port Lions was built to house the inhabitants of Ag'waneq from the neighboring island of Afognak and Port Wakefield from Raspberry Island, after their villages were wiped out by the tsunami caused  by the Good Friday earthquake in 1964. Port Lions was built with the help from the United States government and the Lions Club, hence the name Port Lions.

Brett Weaver past employee and student of Steve Andresen became the proud owner in 2019. Brett and his wife Shoshanna thoroughly enjoy life in Port Lions and have big plans for the lodge in the near future. When  entering the lodge after so many years Brett said "it still feels like home" now and always will be, as they raise their children in a home full of love, laughter and adventure.
